2015 is coming to an end and a number of our best, brightest, and bravest are not home for the holidays.
Of course we are talking about our troops, the dauntless heroes of our great nation that continually put themselves in harm’s way in order to protect us and our freedoms each and every day of the calendar year.
The men and women who don the uniforms of our armed forces, many of whom are thousands of miles away and in situations we could never imagine, deserve our time, honor, and respect. During the holidays, we can, and must, show our support and admiration for them as they hold the line for our freedoms and way of life.
Especially during these trying times when evildoers and terror networks have been trying, and sadly succeeding throughout the world to incite fear and horror through tragic events, we have the ability to show our protectors that we value them and their daily sacrifices.
Our soldiers are on the frontlines keeping us safe, it is our duty to let them know that we at home care about them and respect what they do for us.
During this season of giving, please consider contacting your local chapter of the Red Cross and participating in the Holiday Mail for Heroes program. Or consider donating to the USO to help those deployed away from home to see that we never stop thinking of them and thanking them for their service.
As this year winds down, please take the time to thank a veteran or active duty member of our armed forces for what they do or what they have done for our great nation.
